ABOUT

Neu-reality proudly presents the London Brain and Intelligence Summit

Neu-reality (神经现实) is a non-profit science communication platform dedicated to exploring the frontiers of brain and intelligence research. We focus on long-term observation of breakthroughs in neuroscience and AI, alongside their technological advances, clinical applications, and industry trends. At the same time, we actively promote public understanding of science and foster interdisciplinary dialogue across academia.

Founded nine years ago, Neu-reality has grown into one of the leading independent tech media outlets in China. We have been featured in annual new media rankings by Huxiu and Scientific American, and were named Huxiu Author of the Year in 2020. Today, our total subscriber base across major platforms exceeds one million.

Our volunteer network includes nearly 400 contributors from world-class institutions such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, UCL, Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, UC system campuses, and the Max Planck Institutes. Spanning fields from scientific research to science communication, they bring professional expertise and insights to our content.

In Beijing and Shanghai, we have hosted a series of Mind+ public events, where scientists explain how the brain works—covering topics such as autism, schizophrenia, decision-making, and neuroaesthetics. The live and replayed sessions have attracted nearly 500,000 views.

We continue to experiment with new formats, including podcasts, newsletters, illustrations, and video. Our podcast Neuromancing features in-depth conversations with scientists, physicians, and philosophers, exploring the unknown realms of the human mind. On Ximalaya alone, it has been played over one million times. Our academic newsletter NeuroFrontier delivers the latest research insights, practical skills, and weekly paper digests to the scholarly community. Meanwhile, our industry service platform NeuS tracks advances in neuroscience-related industries, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.

Beyond science communication, we work closely with publishers, research institutes, tech companies, and non-profit organizations. Our projects include co-publishing books authored or translated by Neu-reality members, producing a neuroscience special issue with CITIC Press, and organizing events for the journal Cognitive Science. We also maintain an ongoing partnership with the Philosophy and Cognitive Science Interdisciplinary Platform at Renmin University of China, co-hosting initiatives such as the International Conference on Predictive Processing.

The name Neu-reality carries a dual meaning: our reality is prensented by neural activity, and neuroscience and neurotechnology will lead us to a “new reality” for humanity. We believe the brain is the final frontier of human knowledge, and Neu-reality is here to witness every breakthrough along the way.
