ABOUT
Neu-reality proudly presents the London Brain and Intelligence Summit
Neu-reality (神经现实) is a science communication platform focused on cutting-edge technology, dedicated to long-term observation of breakthroughs in brain and intelligence research, technological advances, clinical applications, and business trends. At the same time, Neu-reality actively promotes public understanding and engagement with science, and is committed to fostering interdisciplinary integration within academia.
Over the past nine years, Neu-reality has grown into a leading independent media outlet in the technology sector. It has been shortlisted in annual new media rankings by platforms such as Huxiu and Scientific America, and was named a Huxiu 2020 Author of the Year. Currently, our total subscriber base across all major platforms exceeds one million.
Our volunteer team consists of nearly 400 members from top universities and institutions, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Hong Kong University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Imperial College London, University College London, Harward, Stanford University, Max Planck Institutes, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California, and Princeton University. These members, active across fields from scientific research to science communication, provide professional expertise and contributions to our content.
In Beijing and Shanghai, Neu-reality has hosted several "Mind+" public events, inviting scientists to explain to the public how the brain works—covering topics such as the neurobiological basis of autism and schizophrenia, the neural mechanisms of decision-making, and neuroaesthetics. The live broadcasts and replays of these talks have accumulated nearly 500k views.
We are also constantly exploring new formats, such as podcasts, newsletters, illustrations, and videos. Our podcast “Neuromancing” features in-depth conversations with guests from various disciplines, delving into the unknown realms of human mind from perspectives in science, medicine, and philosophy. On Ximalaya, our podcast series has been played over one million times. Our newsletter “NeuroFrontier” focuses on academic sharing—offering the latest research insights, scientific skills, and weekly paper digests for the academic community. NeuS, our industry service platform, continuously tracks scientific advances and innovation in the neuroscience-related industry, aiming to advance collaboration across industry and academia.
Beyond science communication, we have built collaborations with publishers, research institutes, tech companies, and non-profit organizations. We have facilitated the publication of several books authored or translated by Neu-reality members, co-produced a brain science special magazine with CITIC Press, and organized events for the academic journal Cognitive Science. We have also established a close partnership with the Philosophy and Cognitive Science Interdisciplinary Platform at Renmin University of China, jointly hosting academic exchange projects such as the International Conference on Predictive Processing.
The name Neu-reality carries a dual meaning: our reality is represented by neural activity, and neuroscience/neurotechnology will shape a “new reality” in the future. We believe the brain is the final frontier of human knowledge, and Neu-reality is here to witness every major breakthrough along the journey of its exploration.
